Before I Wake (Movie Review)

Before I Wake

This is not a horror movie as many of friends thought it is. The genre of this film is ranked Fantasy/Drama. Many people mix it with horror and thriller which is not true.
I personally liked this film and which is really rare as I mostly like horror or romance. There is something in this film which attracted me towards this film. It is executed brilliantly and as a film student, I would say great work to Mike Flanagan who is the director of this film and the editor too.

OK! OK! Let's us talk about the film now.

Well firstly those of who don't know about the film and haven't watched the trailer then here it is; click this link

So back to the topic, this film is about a young boy who is nearly 9 yrs old named Cody who doesn't like to sleep because his dreams come true. You must be thinking, wait what? Is it like A Nightmare on Elm Street? Well, the answer to your question is no because in that film the kids who were living in that street had dreams about Freddy who were killing them but in this film Cody have every kind of dreams, there is good one and certainly the worse ones.

The movie starts with this couple who recently lose their child and decided to adopt another boy but this boy whom they adopted is different. His name is Cody and whatever he dream becomes reality. At first his dreams are harmless and beautiful for the couple but then it become worse as the boy Cody is afraid of someone in his dreams, who he thinks eats people. Cody don't like to sleep much as he is afraid that if he sleeps the canker man will come and will eat people around him as he is a good hearted boy, he does not want to hurt anyone. He fails again and this time there is a fighter who would not lose against the canker man.

I won't tell you each and everything in the movie because there won't be anything left for you to watch. But I personally liked the ending in which most movies makes the film or ruins the film.

How It Happened (FAN Book Review )

This book is written by Shahzaf Fatima Haider.
This is an amazing book to read. It's a must read if you want to laugh and enjoy family environment. I personally finished this book in less than a week and I must say I am very very slow in reading novels but this one is really different. It is a perfect story of conservative Muslim house and is really close to a Pakistani household. In this book a Shia Bandian household is shown and what are their values, beliefs, lifestyle. Where a girl from Shia family fell in love with a Sunni guy and then what happens how her family is against their marriage and how everyone eventually agrees for them to get married.
I must say the author is really talented she knows where to make the scene intense and how to write it so that readers like could get the feel what it really feels like.
This book is about love, family values, religion and much more. I enjoyed each every word of it, must say the dialogues made me laugh like hell. There were some situations in which I literally got emotional then there were some who made me happy. It was a complete package for the readers.
I especially loved each and every character in the book and I could totally relate it with people living around me. My favorite character was Dadi. I loved her dialogues, her reactions as exactly how my grandmother would react if I were trying to marry a guy out of my religion. Every character was described so beautifully by the author that made this novel even more interesting to read.
I must say it's a must read for every girl who belongs to an Asian family which can totally relate, I being one loved this book.
This is the only book that made me laugh out loud, emotional and happy at the same time. The twist and turns of the story were perfect and the best part was I was so involved in the story that I even dream about Zeba getting married to .... I don't want to spoil the fun for you guys.
In a nutshell best book I ever read.
